This was my first big graphic design project at Algonquin. I had to design a logo for the fictitious character, Big Joe—both in black and white and in 2-colour. After that I had to design a directional sign and a truck that corresponded with the logo—all hand made! As in cutting and pasting coloured paper and colouring with marker (imagine me freaking out as the markers start to bleed into each other). The only I didn't have to do was the truck, which was provided, and the reduced version of the logo. Graphic design tidbit: good logos must be able to reduce well down to 1 inch. Oh fun times…
I'm Jillian, and I'm a graphic design/illustrator. I love doing all kinds of art, from fine arts and caricatures, to narrative storytelling, infographics, typography, and motion graphics. I'm always interested in learning new mediums and use them to tailor appropriate atmospheres and messages to each project.
